CCMMC Ride
Ride Dates: The ride dates will be March 24th and 25th. Rides will begin at 9am sharp at the main CCMMC entrance.
Location: East Tennessee near Oliver Springs. Maps to the site can be found here.
Background: This land is owned by Coal Creek Mining and Manufacturing Company (CCMMC) and has been open since January 1, 2001. A local ATV club has been instrumental in helping CCMMC make the land available to 4-wheeling and ATV enthusiasts. Go to www.windrockatv.com for more information.
Terrain and Trails: (Because none of our club has visited these trails, this is an educated guess.) This area consists of mud, hill climbs, and probably a few rocks. Trail marking and mapping efforts are underway from the above mentioned Windrock ATV club. The CCMMC land rules shall be adhered to with no tolerance for disobeying. We want the land to stay open, so everyone must do his or her part.
ORV Fees: The fees are $10 per day or $50 for a year pass. These can be purchased at the main entrance or in the town of Oliver Springs.
Lodging:
Oak Ridge
Note: Go to Yahoo!Lodging for maps to the above.
Ride Requirements: Basic safety and recovery equipment is required, including a decent spare tire and any spare parts that your vehicle is prone to breaking. See the Windrock ATV site for the land usage rules.
Contact and Coordination: Please contact me, Kimball Shahrokhi, for information and coordination for this ride ( shahroka@mindspring.com ). Oliver Springs will have the last gas, air, and food before hitting the trails. I will be staying with family in West Knoxville, so lodging info is provided for those of you who might want to stay near where I’m at. Any person who wants to attend but doesn’t want to ride will be linked up with an open seat, if available.
